Where is Salty Soul?
Our summer base is at the Oasi del Mare beach club in Calambrone, a beach between Pisa and Livorno.
Who can take part in Salty Soul activities?
Our activities are open to everyone, from beginners to experts, adults and children alike.
Which languages are the lessons taught in?
We teach in Italian and English, and in French on request.
What are the lesson times?
Hours change with the season. From mid-May to the end of September we’re open every day: 8:30–18:00 from mid-June to mid-September, 10:00–18:00 the rest of that period. From March to mid-May and in October and November we’re open on Saturdays and Sundays, and on weekdays by appointment. Lessons are always by booking.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Yes. You need to be at least a little comfortable in the water to start. In every lesson we provide a buoyancy aid and your instructor is always close by.
From what age can you start?
For younger children we run the Kids Windsurf Camp, for kids and teens aged 6 to 14. From age 15, you can join our adult lessons and courses.
When in the year are lessons available?
We are open from 1 March to 30 November. Private lessons are by appointment with the instructor.

Can I book a single lesson, or do I have to sign up for a full course?
You can choose single lessons or packages of several lessons for more structured learning.
What does a typical lesson look like?
A lesson starts with a short theory introduction, followed by practice on the water with your instructor.
Do I need any previous experience?
No, we have lessons for every level, from beginners to advanced. Even if it’s your very first time, you’re welcome!
What should I bring to my first lesson?
We recommend a swimsuit, water-resistant sunscreen, a towel and a bottle of water. We provide everything else, including boards, sails and wetsuits.
What makes Salty Soul lessons special?
Our method is built on many years of teaching and racing experience. Our instructors are certified by the Italian Sailing Federation and give you personal feedback to help you improve your technique quickly.
Once I’ve learned, can I rent a board and sail?
Yes, we have everything you might need, and our instructors will be happy to help you choose the best equipment for you.
Can I use my own equipment?
Of course! If you have your own gear and want to use it, our team can give you advice on trim and tuning.

Which payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, credit/debit cards, PayPal and bank transfers.
Can I cancel or move a lesson?
Yes, just let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
What if there’s no wind or the weather is bad?
Safety comes first: if conditions don’t allow a lesson, we move it to another date agreed with you.
Are there discounts for groups or families?
Yes: semi-private lessons for 2 or more people are 30% off. For larger groups, schools or companies, email info@saltysoul.it for a tailored quote.
